Location and Access

Ile Jacopin is three kilometers from the picturesque little port of Roscoff at the tip of the Perharidy Peninsular which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. That means it's a few minutes from the Plymouth-Roscoff ferry, forty five minutes by road from Brest airport (cheap flights from Southampton, Bristol and Birmingham) and twenty five minutes from Morlaix airport (hardly any flights from anywhere).

The area is one of the most spectacular on the Breton coast and has a particularly mild microclimate - semi-tropical gardens are one of Roscoff's many tourist attractions. Roscoff and nearby St Pol de Leon are charming traditional Breton towns with friendly communities, shops, high quality restaurants, and boat trips to Ile de Batz.

Being an island, access is all part of the adventure. It is entirely surrounded by water for an hour or so before and after high tide twice a day. At other time it can be reached by a right of way across the broad sandy beach and up a little rocky causeway. This is only recommended by a carefully driven 4x4 vehicle - otherwise cars can be left in a public car park next to the beach: there is also camp site parking a little further off.
